Theatrical Interests
Born outside of Chicago, Alyssa moved to Boca Raton, FL at a young age and considers herself a Florida semi-native. She always had an interest in writing and reading and always received high grade in both. After being in a few community plays, she fell in love with theatre and decided to study theatre with a specialization in management and production. She also got a minor in English writing and freelanced for a few companies.
A Writing Sample…
“There are so many small things that you can do on an average day to help someone, like complementing a stranger on their appearance or holding the door open for people as they enter a building. Even this holiday season, if you have a few extra dollars you could buy a toy for a child who may not receive a gift this Christmas and place it in a collection box. Sometimes just giving someone a nice smile can positively affect them when they really need it. These all may seem like small things, but you would be surprised how much it means to them.”
Passions & Inspirations

Theater
My major was in theatre studies because I have always enjoyed live theater. Although I can’t sing a note, I love musical theatre. Some of my favorite shows are Avenue Q, Into the Woods, and Wicked.

Improvisation
I had an interest in improv after watching Whose Line is it Anyway? as a kid. I would play improv games with friends, but it wasn’t until college that I decided to take improv classes with SAK Comedy Lab in Orlando, FL.

Reading
I’ve always loved reading, especially the Harry Potter novels. I used to be able to devour a novel in just a few days – even hours if I had the time. Although I have always loved fiction, I now enjoy autobiographical books more.

Volunteering
I recently became a volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants a wish to a child dealing with a life-threatening medical condition. So far I have helped two amazing wishes come true, and I hope to do more in the future!
